No matter how far you have to drive in the morning, traffic has to be taken into consideration all the time. Roadwork pops up on Lake Avenue that makes it challenging for people to take their normal route to school or be late to school. Often times there are water main breaks at the bottom of Lake Avenue where it meets Falls Road.The usual cause for traffic in the mornings, though, are typical morning traffic jams.
Over the last two years, a group of upper school students has traveled to Sandy Point State Park on a Thursday in late January to participate in the Polar Bear Plunge. The Polar Bear Plunge is a public event that allows people to “take the plunge”, diving into the near-freezing Chesapeake Bay in order to raise money for the Special Olympics.
Opening in 2017, Mt. Washington’s Woodrow’s Bar-B-Que has already grown to be a notable restaurant that’s less than ten minutes from Boys’ Latin. Its 4.8 star Google rating and the reviews, for the majority, have nothing less than good things to say about this southern-style eatery.
BL students are expected to embody the school motto everyday in everything they do, both on and off the field. “If you think about it it’s Esse Quam Videri. That’s what this is about. It’s not about athletics its just the classroom in the afternoon.” Stated Thomas.
Going into the 2018-2019 school year, many changes were made to the way which clubs were presented to the student body. Rather than selecting one study hall to have a club fair, clubs were presented during lunch to the entire student body over the course of one week.
