What is a lifer? In Boys’ Latin terms, a lifer is anyone who’s been at BL since first grade or lower and has continued through high school. For some of us, change has been a distant stranger. For the past twelve or thirteen years, we have woken up and come to the same school with the same day to day routine. Now college is peeking right around the corner and we lifers will have to embrace the certain change that is about to enter our lives.
Opening in 2017, Mt. Washington’s Woodrow’s Bar-B-Que has already grown to be a notable restaurant that’s less than ten minutes from Boys’ Latin. Its 4.8 star Google rating and the reviews, for the majority, have nothing less than good things to say about this southern-style eatery.
This year’s fall play, A Separate Peace, was performed from October 23 to October 25. Based on the classic tale written by John Knowles, the play’s theme of friendship between two private school boys felt especially relevant to BL students. On top of that, it was both Seniors Teddy Roebuck’s and Ely Shilling’s first time directing a school play.
