Over the last two years, a group of upper school students has traveled to Sandy Point State Park on a Thursday in late January to participate in the Polar Bear Plunge. The Polar Bear Plunge is a public event that allows people to “take the plunge”, diving into the near-freezing Chesapeake Bay in order to raise money for the Special Olympics.
Many students at Boys’ Latin have diverse tastes in music and various ways of finding new songs to listen to. Whether it be rap or country, hip-hop or 80’s, BL students have always been interested in a wide variety of music genres. But music streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Soundcloud have changed the way students find and share music as they get older.
This year Boys’ Latin kicked off its 175th birthday on the first day of school with festivities including noisemakers at Opening Convocation, birthday cake for every student at lunch, singing “Happy Birthday”
