Disney’s Marvel Studios upcoming film “Avengers: Infinity War” showcases the culminating battle against Thanos and his army are trying to collect the six infinity stones to control and “rebalance” the universe, meaning eliminate Earth, the Avengers, and simply anyone who stands in his way and tries to stop him altogether. Everything the Avengers have fought for, worked for, and protected is now on the line during their fight with Thanos.
While many speculate what’s going to happen in “Avengers: Infinity War” as the fate of some characters is unknown due to a variety of things such as contracts ending, the plot, and actors tired of their roles. Some believe that the ultimate ending of the battle should just be all the Avengers surviving to fight another day, but I have a different opinion about what is going to happen and who should die.
I have seen all of the Marvel movies from the start of the franchise with “Iron Man,” and I’ve read most of the comics which makes me more than a typical fan of the franchise. After researching the events of “Avengers: Infinity War,” I feel that death is needed in the Marvel Universe.
The fate of some of the characters are unknown as this battle takes place in different places such as the fictional country of Wakanda, New York, and in outer space. I personally believe that this fight will end with Captain America, Iron Man, Loki, and Vision dead. Although the death of some of these characters would be devastating to fans and the Marvel universe, I personally believe it is needed.
In order to keep the Avengers franchise unsaturated with the same material, I feel some of the old characters must die to bring fresh air to the franchise. Although the death of some of the main characters would be sad, the positive in this is that more character stories come to light such as Bucky Barns, War Machine, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, and Sam Wilson aka Falcon.
Some of the cast have contracts that are coming to a close are Robert Downey, Jr. (Ironman), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) after “Avengers 4” according to ScreenRant.
As the plot is still unknown, here is my prediction on how some of the characters will die from looking at the trailers and reading a portion of the comics that could be adapted to the final film.
I feel that Loki will die in an attempt to save Thor from Thanos and Captain America will die fighting a one-on-one battle with Thanos or by one of his soldiers during the extensive battle. I believe Vision will die when the mind stone is ripped from his head. Later on, I believe Thor will die or be critically injured fighting Thanos in hand-to-hand combat or on the quest to create his new weapon called Stormbreaker.
While Iron Man has a high probability of dying in this movie, I believe he has a chance of being saved so he can lead the next Avengers team after the events of this movie, but I feel he will retire after that and allow someone else to take the lead.
The ultimate battle, in my opinion, will be a success for the Avengers, but it will come at a great cost as the lives of some Avengers will be lost in the battle. Yet, many lives do need to be lost in this movie to push the stories of other characters.
