Game of Thrones Creates Controversy
Writer and editor, George R. R. Martin, is currently on the verge of writing the sixth season of the extreme popular HBO show, “Game of Thrones”, and it is stirring up some controversy. The show has come a very long way since its first season premiere on April 17, 2011, and its fan base is growing exponentially.
Martin’s best-selling book “Game of Thrones” sinks its considerable storytelling teeth into the epic medieval fantasy.
It’s the battle of two powerful families, kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and honest men, playing a deadly game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros and to sit atop the Iron Throne.
The popular HBO tv show is filmed in the most beautiful of all places consisting of Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, Northern Ireland, Spain, Scotland, and the United States with spectacular scenery according to skyscanner.net.
Game of Thrones is currently ranked #1 on HBO and is very popular around the world, but the show seems to cause a lot of controversy. The show is full of nudity and intimate scenes that some viewers make out to be sexist.
Throughout the show, women are raped in almost every episode causing the show to lose a massive feminine fan base all around the world. The backlashes against “Thrones” creates a difficult situation for HBO, which has for decades hurt its image as the home of high-end tv programming that not many other networks provide.
The nudity and rape scenes that “Game of Thrones” shows on HBO over the course of the last five years has hurt their reputation.
Colin Amy stated, “That’s a tough one because the sex scenes, to be honest, attract more males than it does lose female viewers. If they take the sex scenes out, I do believe the show would lose a lot of male viewers. So HBO should keep the sex scenes for the majority of the viewers and for their own personal gains.”
“Game of Thrones” is recognized for the intense action scenes and the prosperous character building. The change in appearance and age combined with the development of characters over the last five years of filming always keeps the viewers intrigued.
Justin Ward expressed “It’s my favorite show because the character building is spectacular and there is an incredible amount of action to always keep me interested.”
Despite the controversy, “Game of Thrones” is the most popular show on HBO. It received a 9.5 rating out of 10 on IMDB and is tied for the highest rating of all time with the hit series “Breaking Bad” and TV war show “Band of Brothers.”
