Batman is better than Superman

With “Batman Vs Superman” coming out in only a few days, it was time to silence the fanboys and address who is clearly the better hero. If it wasn’t obvious enough, it’s Batman.

Batman has always been a better hero than Superman. In the comics, he has always had better villains and powers, and even in the movie,  he has a better motive to be fighting Superman. In my opinion, I think that Batman is clearly superior to Superman in almost every category.

First of all, the motives for why Batman is going to confront Superman are much better than Superman’s. Batman’s fighting what he believes is a credible but also reckless alien threat that can wipe out humanity. He does have a valid point in his argument after what had happened to Metropolis at the end of “Man of Steel”; essentially it was demolished in a single fistfight between Superman and General Zod. 08d16d4567f303c46f16a66041eca2f620352f4b

Superman, on the other hand, wants to put down what he believes is a reckless vigilante who is patrolling the streets of Gotham City crippling criminals. Superman is partly right; in the trailer, a frame of the Batcave shows what looks to be a hung up former Robin uniform which presumably belonged to Jason Todd. Batman must have progressively gotten harsher and more ruthless in the years after Jason’s death.

Batman is also better equipped to fight than Superman; unlike the Man of Steel, Batman has gadgets and resources, not even a single power.  Batman is a detective martial artist, has seemingly unlimited resources, at this point presumably two sidekicks, gadgets, and most likely access to Superman’s weakness, kryptonite.

As stated, Superman has powers but no skills. Superman has heat vision, enhanced strength, bulletproof skin, speed, X-ray vision, and can fly.  Superman’s powers seem  daunting at first, but as seen in parts of “The Man of Steel,” he barely has a grasp on how to use them let alone control them.

Finally  the villains. Batman has such better villains than Superman.  I’m going to list of a few of Batman’s villains and then compare them to Superman’s villains and just see how much more intimidating and known they are compared to Superman’s. Batman’s  rogue gallery includes: Mr. Freeze, Penguin, Riddler, Firefly, Scarecrow, Bane, Red Hood, and the Baddest of them all, The Joker.

I did my best to pick out all of Superman’s best and most intimidating villains, but none of them can even stack up to a single Batman villain in notoriety. Superman’s villains are Lex Luthor, Bizarro, Doomsday, General Zod, Darkseid, Brainiac, and Sinestro.

Batman dominates every category you can possibly think of. Maybe it’s because I have a hard time taking a freak dressed like a clown seriously, but I’m not even remotely scared of Superman. “Batman vs Superman” is out March 25th; maybe after seeing the movie, I will change my mind about Superman.
