The two teams that competed in the Super Bowl this year were the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks had a chance to defend their world title and take home a second Lombardi trophy, but blew it in the last seconds. The Patriots were trying to take home their fourth Lombardi Trophy.

The halftime show featured Katy Perry. She had a few surprises, including Lenny Kravitz and Missy Eliot. She also had an outstanding performance compared to the disappointment by Bruno Mars last year. The human-operated, light-up giant tiger to kick off the halftime show was also very cool.
This year’s Media Day was an interesting showcase of Marshawn Lynch. He went to Media Day so that he wouldn’t be fined $500,000. His answer to everything was, “I’m here so I don’t get fined.” On the other hand, Tom Brady was being pounded with deflated football questions. He was asked if he had ever cheated in the past. Tom Brady claimed that he has not cheated in the past, although the Patriots have been accused and found guilty of cheating about ten years ago.
Tom Brady had been fighting a cold since the day after his Patriots won the AFC Championship title against the Colts. The game has received a lot of publicity due to the discovered deflation of eleven of the twelve footballs provided by the Patriots. The event has been nicknamed “Deflate Gate.” It seemed that Brady did not have a problem, throwing his tenth, eleventh, and twelfth Super Bowl touchdown passes.
